Gotzkowskystraße

Das Haus an der Ecke Turm- / Gotzkowskystaße ist eingerüstet, auf Gehweg und Straße ist Bauzeugs, also Kran, ein Putzsilo, Container, Dämmmaterial etc., mit Bauzäunen umfriedet. Ein Durchgang vor der Fassade bleibt frei, genauso ein kleiner Platz mit Tischen und Stühlen vor ‘Halis Kebap’. Das Gerüst ist kunstvoll über die Imbissbude geführt, sodass die Gäste vor herabstürzendem Bauzeugs sicher sind. Am späten Sonntagnachmittag kommen Jungs in Fußballklamotten – zwei Gruppen hintereinander. Sie essen Kebab und im Gehen kommen sie gucken und fragen – ob ich Maler sei kann ich nie befriedigend beantworten, ‘welche Sprache’ ich sei, ist leichter.

The house at the corner of Turm- / Gotzkowskystaße is scaffolded, on the sidewalk and street is construction stuff, i.e. crane, a plaster silo, containers, insulation material etc., enclosed with construction fences. A passageway in front of the facade remains free, as does a small square with tables and chairs in front of ‘Halis Kebap’. The scaffolding is artfully led over the snack bar, so that the guests are safe from falling construction material. Late Sunday afternoon, boys in soccer gear arrive – two groups in a row. They eat kebabs and as they walk away they come to look and ask – whether I am a painter I can never answer satisfactorily, ‘what language’ I am is easier.

 

Weiter die Straße runter, Richtung Charlottenburg, ist an der Ecke Gotzkowski-/Zwinglistraße der Pamukshop. Samstagnachmittag, Mitte Oktober, stehen schon Displayrollwagen mit weihnachtlicher Deko vor dem Eingang zur Gotzkowkystraße, also z.B. in Klarsichtdosen verpackte Kiefernzapfen und glänzend-bunte Plastikpuschel. Im Schaufenster zur Zwinglistraße sind noch Hasenfiguren und Frösche mit Kronen. Überall hängen Taschen aus Polyestergewebe mit einem Hundekopf (Malteser Terrier, habe ich jetzt gelesen) und “I love pamukshop” darauf. Drinnen gibt es, neben den üblichen Spätkauf-Artikeln, z.B. Shisha-Sets in praktischen Transporttaschen, Adapter für aktuelle und historische Anschlüsse, Flaggen aller möglichen Länder und mehr. Ich finde z.B. einen dieser krassen Textilmarker (rot).

Further down the street, towards Charlottenburg, at the corner of Gotzkowski-/Zwinglistraße is the Pamukshop. On Saturday afternoon, in mid-October, there are already display trolleys with Christmas decorations in front of the entrance to Gotzkowkystraße, i.e. pine cones packed in transparent tins and shiny, colorful plastic puffballs. In the shop window to Zwinglistraße are still rabbit figures and frogs with crowns. Everywhere hang bags made of polyester fabric with a dog’s head (Maltese terrier, I have now read) and “I love pamukshop” on it. Inside, in addition to the usual late-night shopping items, there are, for example, shisha sets in handy carrying bags, adapters for current and historical connections, flags of all sorts of countries, and more. I find, for example, one of these rad textile markers (red).

 

Schräg gegenüber ist der Sudanesische Imbiss ‘Bamboo’. Drinnen läuft gute Musik, sodass ich meine Falafel Makali (u.A. mit Süßkartoffeln und Erdnusssoße) drinnen esse. Am späten Sonntagnachmittag kommen viele Leute, holen entweder zum Mitnehmen oder sie essen an den Biertischen vor dem Laden. Dort liegt Herbstlaub.

Diagonally opposite is the Sudanese snack bar ‘Bamboo’. There is good music inside, so I eat my Falafel Makali (with yams and peanut sauce) inside. Late Sunday afternoon, many people come, either getting takeaway or eating at the beer tables in front of the store. There are autumn leaves there.

Kurz vor der Kreuzung Gotzkowsystraße / Alt Moabit, Freitag ca. 21:00. Die Straße ist nass und in den Pfützen spiegelt sich das Licht des ‘Moonshine Spätkauf’.
